We are very pleased to present a video premiere to you today. The track “Burn the Boats“ is by Dreamslain – two of their members, Anna and Igor, you already know as regular guest authors for our blog, who have provided us with some great articles. The song deals with the destruction of traditional fishing vessels in the Mediterranean Sea, particularly in Greece, for the benefit of larger scale commercial fishing. We hope you enjoy watching the video!

Written and performed by Anna Loppacher – keyboards and bass pedals; Daniel Paulsen Figenschou – drums; Igor Jakobsen – guitars, bass guitars and vocals
Lyrics
The sea is black
Fishing boats come empty back
Big ships are taking the fish far away
Plundering the hope of those who must stay
They’re crying, despairing: will they all now die?
Searching for a way out but finding a lie
There is no hope when profit rules all
Greed will succeed, humans will fall
*
Dead bodies they bring from the sea
People in despair that had tried to flee
Like a plague greed in the world has spread
Slave till you fall, and then beg till your dead
Broken they beg their children to feed
Surrender themselves to the masters of greed
Burn your ships and become our slaves
The aid you’ll get for it will lead to your graves
*
I will not bow, I will not be a slave I will stand tall
I will not yield, I will not abandon the great seas call
I won’t bow down, so rise up and come follow me
We will not yield, we will build a new ship, and we’ll sail the sea
*

We will set sail over the sea
We will catch fish, we will be free
The fish we catch we’ll bring back to shore
No one shall starve forevermore
*
We will not bow, we will not be slaves we will stand tall
We will not yield, we will not abandon the great seas call
We won’t bow down, so rise up and come follow me
We will not yield, we will build a new ship, and we’ll sail the sea
